Finally, I got my MacPorts upgraded for High Sierra. One can’t imagine how difficult it is to install your favorite Linux/Unix tools without MacPorts (or some other similar software) that help us to manage all the downloading, dependency checks etc and etc.

The upgrade process is pretty straight forward.

  1. Download the latest MacPorts pkg file
  2. Make sure you have Xcode command line tool updated (you will know if you aren’t ;p)
  3. And update your port tree and all outdated packages as usual
